What Happened?! We’re Still Here!

“What happened to you guys?”

Hi everyone. It has been a while since our last post. What happened?

Jennifer and I want to say “thank you” to all of you that emailed us wondering what happened with our boat blog and why we weren’t posting.  It’s nice to be missed.

Sadly, the answer to “what happened” is. . .  Life has been getting in the way!!

We want to clarify that comment.   Our Life is fantastic!

Jennifer, Robert, and I are all still healthy and safe. For the most part, our family and friends are doing fine as well. We are blessed.

Even with the peak of hurricane season upon us, we’ve faired very well so far here in Florida.  As I type this, Jennifer reminds me that hurricane season doesn’t end until November and I might jinx it.   Let’s hope for the best.

Our best wishes go out to all that are being affected by Hurricane Florence and the continued flooding that is causing so much damage.

So, the appropriate answer to “what happened” . . .

Maybe we’ll just say “Life has consumed much of our time lately“.  Lol.

Our business has been running at a moderate pace over this summer season, but suddenly our workload spiked with boat jobs and we are definitely going to make the most of it while it’s here.

Along with the additional  work, the day to day work, and some larger projects that we had taken on, suddenly another setback. Our “ol’ reliable” truck that we pull our boat around with, had begun to make some noises. Believe me when I say, these noises are the expensive ones.

no engine truckShort story long. . .  we’ve hoisted the motor out of the truck and the rebuild is already underway. We are NOT gonna do a blog post on this topic!  We recently posted about replacing the heads on the boat engine (twice).  I think we’ve covered the V-8 motor.

Also, along with our Florida Boat Blog, we have  been developing our own  e-commerce store that will hopefully help us continue to post about cool boating destinations in our Florida waters. More about that later.

Boating?

So, with regards to boating;  we just haven’t done much boating this last month or so.  At least not in our boat.  It is with slumped shoulders and a hanging head that I admit, the closest thing to boating we’ve done lately is when we run the boat on the flush ears once a week.  Boooo!!

We did take a ride aboard the “Mrs. Kimberly” one Saturday on a daytrip through the Locks at Port Canaveral. We made a run out of the Port to open ocean waters and then a ride along Cocoa Beach and the Cocoa Beach Pier.  Excellent weather and so much to see.  Thanks Capt. Tony!

What’s Next?

As the summer season winds down, Jennifer and I are looking forward to cooler evening temps and doing some spoil island camping.     Mmmmmm. . .  outdoor cooking and a roaring campfire.

We’ll start putting plans together for the next trip on the water just as soon as the motor goes back in the truck and we’re back to 100%.  We still have to make it to the Silver Glen Springs in OUR boat before the year ends.

Check back in with us soon. We promise to keep posting as often as possible. We’re still searching for a steal on a decent trawler, so maybe we can show you guys some of the boats that we look at.  Also, we’ll let everyone know when we launch our new e-commerce site.  We are so excited!!

See you on the Water!
