2019 Christmas Boat Parades. We’re Ready!

Christmas boat parade

Who’s ready for Christmas?

Hey everyone. Jennifer and I want to start by offering all of you our warmest holiday wishes.  Now, who’s ready for the 2019 Christmas boat parades?  We are !

Just had our first real temperature drop here in central Florida, and we’re finally seeing highs down in the 80’s.  Lol

Halloween is over and with the DST clock reversal, now it’s cooler AND dark earlier.  It’s beginning to look alot like Christmas . . .”

Now all we need are lights.  Lots of lights.   And not just on the house and in the yard, but all over the boat!!

So . . .  get your batteries charged up, dig out the invertors, generators, or whatever you use to run your decorations and rig up your vessel. Let’s get out there and do as many boat parades as possible this year.

Jennifer and I like to participate in 2-3 parades each Christmas season. This year again we’ll be doing the Merritt Island Christmas boat parade in Brevard county and the Lake Conway boat parades in Orlando, FL.

2019 Merritt Island Christmas Boat Parade:

This will be our 3rd year navigating the canals and neighborhoods of Sykes Creek in Merritt Island by boat.  Hopefully, you’ve checked out or post on the Four Crazy Christmas Nights from last year.

There will be hundreds of boats all decked out in fantastic light displays making their way around the canals of Sykes Creek. Continue reading “2019 Christmas Boat Parades. We’re Ready!”

TrawlerFest Was The Best !

TrawlerFest Stuart 2019

Hey guys. Jennifer and I are back from TrawlerFest Stuart 2019, and we’re happy to report that it was as much fun as we imagined.  TrawlerFest was the Best!

If you like cruising, if you want to start cruising, or you’re just really into the trawler lifestyle, this is the show for you.

In our last post, we detailed what TrawlerFest is all about.  After being there and experiencing it first-hand, we wanted to do a follow-up post for all of you.

We had the opportunity to walk around in so many different styles and sizes of boats all in one place. And we got to meet the wonderful folks that live on them.

We’re still talking about how awesome it was to be able to tour all of those beautiful and slow-moving “homes on the water”.

Saturday March 9, 2019

Our original plans included (2) days at TrawlerFest Stuart, but unfortunately our plans for the week changed, and Saturday turned out to be our only free day.

Believe me when I say, we made the most of it ! Continue reading “TrawlerFest Was The Best !”

Early morning mooring field

Are you a cruiser?  Do you want to be?    We do.

Jennifer and I have been dreaming of cruising full-time. Even if only for a few months a year to start.   We’ve posted previously about our plans and goals of cruising in a trawler style vessel.

We are still searching and shopping for the right opportunity to grab a useable (as in; it runs) project boat with the features we want.

With a small budget and high expectations, it seems like the trawlers we have checked out are either too rough or don’t check the right  boxes for us.

We really want a semi-project boat, but it definitely must run and be useable so that we aren’t stuck at the dock while we’re working on improving it.

Cosmetics are not as important to us because we know that much of the improvements are things that we can do. We’re looking for a solid hull with a  good motor and good running gear.

I could go on and on about trawlers all day long.  Anyway. . .  this post is really meant to be all about the trawler show. Continue reading “Check Out TrawlerFest Stuart 2019”
