Boat Food: Awesome Steak Fajitas

Boat Food: Awesome Steak fajitas

Boat Food

Hey guys.  Thanks for checking out this post.  It’s all about eating good food on the boat.

I’m pretty sure that you guys in the boating community know what I mean when I say “food ALWAYS tastes better on a boat“.

Don’t get me wrong, we enjoy food pretty much anywhere.  But when we’re out boating and doing our favorite thing, we try to bring some of our favorite foods with us.

This week, Jennifer and I made an executive decision to take a weekday (or part of it) for ourselves.  So we planned on spending Wednesday afternoon and early evening boating on beautiful Lake Conway in Orlando, FL.

But what do we want for dinner?  What can we cookout on the boat? What if we feed some friends?

What Happened?! We’re Still Here!

“What happened to you guys?”

Hi everyone. It has been a while since our last post. What happened?

Jennifer and I want to say “thank you” to all of you that emailed us wondering what happened with our boat blog and why we weren’t posting.  It’s nice to be missed.

Sadly, the answer to “what happened” is. . .  Life has been getting in the way!!

We want to clarify that comment.   Our Life is fantastic!

Jennifer, Robert, and I are all still healthy and safe. For the most part, our family and friends are doing fine as well. We are blessed.

Even with the peak of hurricane season upon us, we’ve faired very well so far here in Florida.  As I type this, Jennifer reminds me that hurricane season doesn’t end until November and I might jinx it.   Let’s hope for the best.

Our best wishes go out to all that are being affected by Hurricane Florence and the continued flooding that is causing so much damage.

Found It! Compression Is Very Important

Found it

We finally found it!!  If you’ve read our previous posts, you know that we’ve been struggling with some engine performance problems for a few weeks now.

After what we hoped would be a simple ignition issue, it became obvious that the problem was bigger than just a misfire. We have already replaced almost our entire ignition system.

I also rebuilt our old carburator but it still felt like it was loading up at low RPMs. We upgraded the carb from the original Rochester Quadrajet to an Edelbrock 600. We changed the throttle linkage and fuel line setup and added an intake adaptor plate for the carb Continue reading “Found It! Compression Is Very Important”
