Welcome to “Thunderhula” Florida Boat Blog

Hey everybody!   Thanks for checking out our brand new blogsite and welcome to Thunderhula , our Florida Boat Blog.

We are Jennifer &  Rick, and we are fortunate enough to live in the ” Boating Capital of the USA “, Florida.

We consider ourselves to be hardcore boating enthusiasts and we are on the water whenever possible.

From local inshore fun on the IWC ( Intracoastal Waterway ) , to the bluewater ecstacy of the Florida Keys, we trailer our boat “Bay Tease” all over for new adventures.

Who are we:

Jennifer and I met in Charleston, S.C. where we both grew up. We were married in 1993 and moved to Orlando, FL less than a year later.

We soon started our mobile electronics business and have been working it ever since. After the birth of our son Robert in 1998, boating became a major part of what we do as a family.

Our Boating Goals:

24 years later, and we are more than ready to wrap up the 9:00-5:00 work lifestyle and start a new chapter in our lives.

Our goal is to graduate to a bigger, slower moving vessel that will allow us to stay on the water longer with more of the comforts of home.

Entertaining friends, long trips, cooking meals aboard while underway or on anchor!  These are some of the things we’re excited about doing.

We’re starting this Florida boat blog so that we can share these experiences with all of you.

Our Backyard:

While still operating our business in Orlando, we have since moved closer to the east coast. Jennifer and I have an awesome backdoor view of the ICW which really keeps us motivated.

At any time we will see slow moving boat traffic go by and we sometimes reach out to them as they pass by on our VHF handheld radio.  We love to chat with other boaters that are already “Living the Dream “.

We also get a really cool view of the Kennedy Space Center and the awesome SpaceX and ULA rocket launches just across the water at Cape Canaveral.
